It is time to say out loud what people are saying quietly to each other.
The gender identity fad transcends logic, biology and genetics and has become the latest tool for the progressive hard left movement to decimate the nuclear family and societal norms.
Gender dysphoria has decades of research and documentation as to the causes and treatments and most cases have not resulted in affirming transgenderism. Starting around 2014 there has been a dramatic increase in adolescent transgenderism and is isolated to western society.
For adolescent onset of gender dysphoria there are often other underlying issues and what these children need most are the love, care, and support of their parents. It is unfortunate that the diagnosis and treatment of gender dysphoria has been hijacked and turned into a divisive political issue.
Here in Thompson School District the number of students who identify as transgender ranges from 30 to 50% depending on who you talk to and whether the focus is middle school or high school. One thing I know for certain is that it is statistically and genetically impossible for so many students to be transgender.
The laws that Colorado passed starting in 2008, are harmful to the physical and mental well-being of children and have made it legal to exclude parents from physical and mental healthcare decisions that will impact their son or daughter for years or even worse permanently. Children as young as 12 can without parental consent, obtain an abortion, receive mental health treatment, and receive medical treatment for sexually transmitted diseases.
Gender identity has become the new civil rights movement and is based on an attribute that is impossible to be proven true or false. In many school districts (TSD included) your child can ask for help to socially transition to a gender other than their biological gender, with or without your knowledge or consent.
Women’s sports are being decimated by the insanity of boys/men who claim to be transgender and allowed to compete as a woman with other women. Where are all the feminists who fought so hard in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s for women to be treated as equals?? As professional athletes?
Are parents aware that their son or daughter can encounter the opposite sex in the school bathrooms, and locker rooms or possibly share a hotel for overnight school events such as sports or band? Are parents aware that they or their child can request accommodation TO NOT be put in these situations?
Now we have the state legislature working to pass a bill HB24-1039 that will require all school districts to formulate a policy regarding discrimination based on a student’s preferred non-legal name. The bill has no minimum age requirement which means a seven-year-old can file a claim of discrimination if anyone in school does not use their preferred name to reflect their chosen gender identity.
Many parents do not want to believe that their school is promoting gender identity politics, but it is imperative parents understand this is exactly what is happening in schools!
Contrary to the false narrative of the progressive left, wanting children to be protected by their parents and to receive the proper mental and physical healthcare is not based on hate. In fact, why would anyone be against providing what is best for a child that is based on compassion, empathy, and love?
Rights should NEVER come at the expense of another person’s rights and most important government is not who grants us rights. Our natural rights come from the divine creator (whatever God or belief you choose) and the government is only to protect these rights.
It is time to be brave, speak the truth and protect your children, our children, all children.
